Exporting and importing forms is an advanced feature mainly used to share forms with other agencies using Vector Evaluations+.
Exporting
If you have created a great form or set of forms, you can export the XML structure of those forms and email them to a neighboring agency for them to import into their own EV+ platform.
For a single form, click Export XML next to the form you want to copy and save the file to your harddrive.
For multiple forms, click the checkboxes next to each form and then click Batch in the upper right. Select Export XML and save the .zip file to your harddrive.
You're now free to email the .xml file or the .zip folder to another EV+ administrator or, if you have access to mulitple EV+ platforms, import those files to your second EV+ platform.
Importing
You can import .xml files that use the EV+ XML structure only. (Saving a word document as an .xml file extension and importing it will not be successful. Only EV+ .xml files can be imported into EV+.)
To import:
- In the upper right, click Import and select Import from File.
- Click Choose and find the form .xml files you want to import (100 file maximum).
- Once they are done loading (indicated by a blue progress bar), click Import.
- Confirm the import and click the blue Close button.
You cannot upload .zip folders here, only .xml files. If your XML files are in a zipped forms, you must first extract them before selecting them here.
All imported forms will be in an unpublished status so that they can be edited before use.
