EMS/CAPCE :
Basics of EMS Operations at a Mass Casualty Incident *NEW*

This course also reviews scene safely, communication with hospitals, and patient transport and tracking. To see a great example of how we used 3D animation, look for the triage section (slides 31 to 41) in which it shows how to perform a triage during a mass casualty event.
Endocrine System Emergencies Basic *NEW*
-This course examines the ways in which an EMS personnel should respond, assess, and manage diabetes, hypoglycemia, and other endocrine system emergencies. See slide 6 for another great example of animation of the hormones that control blood glucose. Also, see slide 9 for a detailed illustration and example of how diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) works.
Opioid Overdose and Naloxone Administration *NEW*
- This course informs first responders how to identify and treat an opioid overdose and examines the different assessments and interventions that may be authorized depending on jurisdictions. Custom reenactments were used for this course to illustrate how to respond to an overdose. See slides 18 and 20 for an example.
Assessment and Treatment of Submersion Injuries
- This course reviews the procedures utilized by EMT personnel to recognize and treat submersion injuries in a pre-hospital setting, as well as how to respond to drownings. See slides 6 and 7 for a custom scenario that we filmed to help further illustrate the dangers that come with submersion.
Disease Conditions of Chronic Alcoholism (Advanced)
-This course examines how alcohol affects the body, society, and individual. The course additionally covers the information EMS providers need to know on how to identify alcohol-related disease conditions and provide treatments for chronic alcoholic patients. See slide 6 for an animation illustrating how alcohol affects the body and organs.
Calcium Channel Blocker Overdose

The course features individual drug card diagrams for the most common calcium channel blockers. Check out slide 2 for a great animated walkthrough on the role calcium plays in our body and why this sometimes overlooked topic is critical to EMS providers.
