Here's some information on how the Driver Program works:
-
To enroll a user in the Driver Program assign them the "Driver Assessment". (For more information on enrolling a user in the Driver Assessment, click here.
-
The user takes the Driver Assessment.
-
Based on the user’s performance on the assessment, the order of the courses assigned to that user is determined. NOTE: All users that are assigned the assessment are assigned all 12 courses, it’s the order of the courses that are determined by the assessment.
-
The first course (covering the competency that the user performed worst on in the assessment) is assigned right after the assessment.
-
30 days later, the next course is assigned. So on and so forth for all 12 courses. Note: The user does not need to complete the course in order for the next one to be assigned. They are assigned in 30 day intervals regardless of if the user completed the prior course
How the Driver Assessment works
-
The user will start off with a series of instructions on how the interactive assessment works, as well as a scenario to practice with.
-
The user is placed behind the wheel and uses their mouse (or finger if on mobile) to identify the hazard before it’s too late.
-
The user will go through 12 different driving scenarios where they are tasked with identifying the hazard(s) as quickly and accurately as possible.
-
Once the user completes the 12 interactive scenarios, they are asked 24 multiple choice questions that cover the same competencies (2 questions per competency)
-
After they’ve completed the multiple choice questions, they are taken to their results page. From this page they’ll see how they did on each competency. The competency in red will be assigned first, and yellow assigned second. They will all be assigned in order of worst score to best score.
-
Clicking any competency shows the scoring breakdown, where they can get feedback on the scenario, as well as the multiple choice questions related to that competency.
-
The user will not be able to return to this page, or review the assessment from their history.
-
Once the user closes the assessment, they will have their first course assigned to them in their schedule, and they will be assigned a new course in the Driver Program automatically every 30 days for 12 months.
Scoring
Below is a breakdown of how the Driver Program initial assessment is scored.
-
Each competency is worth a total of 100 points. 80 available points for the interactive scenario, and 20 available points for the 2 multiple choice questions (10 points each question)
-
Each interactive scenario is worth a total of 80 points. The user starts with 80 points, and points are deducted as time passes and mistakes are made.
-
5 points are deducted for each second that passes when the hazard is visible and the user has not yet identified it.
-
5 points are deducted for each inaccurate click of the hazard.
-
If the user does not click anywhere and the scenario ends, or they click 4 times without correctly identifying the hazard, they lose all 80 available points.
-
-
Each multiple choice question is worth 10 points (2 multiple choice questions per competency).
-
10 points are deducted for an incorrect answer of each multiple choice question.
-
-
