As 2018 comes to a close, TargetSolutions reflects on its latest innovations, course enhancements and company news through the year.
As the year comes to an end, it’s important to reflect on your growth to drive further progress in 2019. For TargetSolutions, 2018 was full of ongoing platform enhancements, all-new course offerings and of course, continued outstanding customer support.
TargetSolutions continues to evolve to be the number one source for online training and records management for public safety. Here are some of the most notable enhancements, news and updates from 2018.
Top Product Innovations of 2018
This year TargetSolutions launched its greatest step in streamlining operations management for public safety agencies with the all-new TargetSolutions Check It™ application. The TargetSolutions Check It™ system enables fire, EMS and law enforcement agencies to document, track, and report all routine apparatus, equipment and inventory inspections. Using either the deskop application or mobile app, your department’s personnel can not only complete full department checks of vehicles, inventory levels and equipment; but can also manage service tickets, track costs and report issues in one, centralized location.
In 2018, TargetSolutions also release its first-ever firefighter virtual reality training activity. Created in collaboration of the Pasco County Fire Rescue (FL) this interactive activity teaches how to read smoke coming from a burning building with a 360-degree view of the scene. TargetSolutions, which strives to deliver new, cutting-edge solutions that advance firefighter training, released this training to fire departments at no cost by filling out this form here.
Lastly, TargetSolutions and Calibre Press, known for its educational law enforcement training content and “Street Survival”series, announced a new partnership. This partnership will revolutionize how law enforcement agencies deliver mandatory training with highly dynamic, video-based course from Calibre Press available in the industry’s most powerful LMS.
New Courses and Top Enhancements from 2018
TargetSolutions new courses and course enhancements are always driven by the need to constantly improve training and continuously satisfy federal and local mandates. This year’s releases and enhancements include:
TargetSolutions’ all-new course, NFPA 1851: Cancer-Related Risks of Firefighting, to raise awareness of leading causes of cancer in the fire service and instruct personnel on firefighter cancer prevention measures.
NFPA 1500: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in the Fire Industry, with highly dynamic videos and resources to help first responders recognize mental health issues within themselves and their department.
In August, TargetSolutions added more than 1,500 courses for municipal employees. These courses address crucial topics for a variety of commercial industries, including architecture, engineering and construction (AEC), facility management and maintenance, cyber security, power and utilities, and more. Many of the new titles will offer valuable continuing education units (CEUs) in their respective professions.
Updates to TargetSolutions’ Sexual Harassment Training to comply with California’s Senate Bill 396. Additionally, TargetSolutions released a new course, Mandated Reporter Training for California (EDU), to comply with California’s Assembly Bill 1432.
TargetSolutions’ all-new course for EMS: EMS HazMat Medical Emergencies Advanced. This course features the latest innovations in online training and is accepted by CAPCE.
The release of the new course: Effective Groundwater Supply Management. This dynamic, video-driven course provides water industry professionals with up-to-date training they need to utilize and maintain groundwater sources.
TargetSolutions’ most utilized course, Bloodborne Pathogens Safety, was updated with engaging video-driven lessons to help personnel mitigate risks of exposure to potentially infectious materials and implement protection strategies.
TargetSolutions’ all-new course, Electric and Alternative Fuel Vehicles for First Responders, highlighting the different types of alternative fuel vehicles and how their differing features affect emergency response.
Lastly, TargetSolutions’ course library was completely revamped with new courses for Professional Development Training. The Business Skills catalog, Office Productivity catalog and Project Management catalog all received major enhancements.
Top Platform Enhancement from 2018
Part of TargetSolutions’ ongoing efforts to improve user experience brought the latest platform release: The Certificate Template Creation Tool. This enhancement allows platform managers to streamline the creation and attachment of custom certificates to activities. Rather than requesting certificates from a TargetSolutions account manager, users with Activities Builder permissions can create their own template in just a few steps.
News Highlights of 2018
This past year, TargetSolutions and its parent company, Vector Solutions, focused efforts on giving back to clients and the community.
In light of the record-breaking wildfires this year, Vector Solutions hosted its first annual Fire Truck Pull event to support the Wildland Firefighter Foundation. Through this effort and 14 additional fundraising initiatives, Vector Solutions raised over $10,000 for the cause.
Additionally, TargetSolutions announced complimentary access to impactful courses for the fire service industry to create a safer, more effective workforce.
These releases included TargetSolutions VR training, Smoke Reading in Virtual Reality, NFPA 1500: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in the Fire Industry and NFPA 1851: Cancer-Related Risks of Firefighting.
TargetSolutions also recognized an exceptional client with the International Association of Fire Chief’s (IAFC) Volunteer & Combination Officers Section (VCOS). Deputy Chief Josh Blum, of Loveland-Symmes (Ohio) Fire Department (LSFD) was the recipient of the 2018 VCOS Training Officer Recognition Award during the 2018 Fire-Rescue International (FRI) in Dallas, Texas.
