When creating a new assignment, you have a few options to consider in terms of emailing your users. Here are some details regarding each email setting:
Option #1 - Email users when the assignment is available:
This option allows you to send users an email once their assignments become available
(Note: depending on the Start Date/Time set for the assignment, it's possible you may see a slight delay in the arrival of the email notification).
You may enter a custom message as well which is optional.
Option #2 - Email users one week prior to the assignment being due:
This option allows you to send users an email one week prior to their assignment being due. You may also enter a custom message which is optional.
Note: This email setting will only apply to the assignment you are creating, it will not apply to other assignments until you turn it on manually for each desired assignment.
Option #3 - Email users when the assignment is overdue:
This option allows you to send a recurring email reminder once the assignment becomes overdue. Once you select this option, another checkbox will appear that states: Send recurring weekly email reminder that assignments are overdue. If you check this option, the user will receive an email every Monday with a list of their overdue assignments.
Note: If the user has multiple overdue assignments, they will be combined into one email with a list of their overdue assignments. Only the assignments created with the "Send recurring weekly email reminder that assignments are overdue" box checked will appear in this email. Any assignments that are overdue but did not have this checkbox selected will not display in the weekly email.
